Canby Ferry Alternatives Feasibility Study-Public Meeting Jan. 15, 2019

On Tuesday, Feb. 19, the Board of County Commissioners will hold a listening session in Canby to hear community feedback on how to reduce the funding gap for operating the Canby Ferry.

After hearing strong opposition from the public about the option to build a bridge at the Jan. 15 public meeting where study findings were presented (above), the board decided to remove that option at their Jan. 30 planning session, but stressed that a sustainable funding strategy is needed to keep the ferry in operation. Currently, running the ferry costs the county approximately $400,000 a year.

Comments and questions may also be submitted by email or by mail or drop-off to Stephen Williams, Development Services Building, third floor, 150 Beavercreek Road, Oregon City, OR 97045. Read more information on upcoming meetings, materials from the public meetings, and background information on the feasibility study.
