Clackamas County seeks public feedback for report on disaster response Clackamas County is asking the public to provide perspective and feedback to improve our planning before, during and after a natural disaster. Officially titled the Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan, it is intended to provide a roadmap for providing federal funding in the aftermath of a disaster by assessing beforehand identified risks associated with natural disasters, and work on long-term strategies for protecting people and property.  While it is impossible to predict precisely when these hazards will occur, the federal government requires communities to engage in this planning in order to receive disaster funding. Experience also shows that communities that participate in this planning are better equipped to deal with the impacts of natural disasters.
